Project Introduction

Daniel Watney was instructed by APML Estate (formerly Cheval Property Holdings) to secure planning permission for the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of two existing residential blocks located on Montpelier Mews. The project involved the demolition of one block, and the extension and replacement to the façade of a neighbouring building. Together, they provide 18 high-quality, residential apartments.

Our Role

The considered design sought to significantly improve the appearance of the existing buildings and their contribution to the Conservation Area, alongside embodying high energy and sustainability credentials. Daniel Watney engaged with local stakeholders and officers in developing the scheme and securing their support for the proposals.

Result

Planning permission was granted in 2020 for the refurbishment and extension of the buildings to provide 18 high-quality residential apartments.
