The introduction of GDPR has highlighted the importance for businesses to protect client data. Coupled with heightened national awareness of increased cyber-attacks in the UK, Daniel Watney LLP decided to have an external Cyber Security audit to ensure both client and company data is as secure as possible.
To obtain certification, among other things, Daniel Watney LLP replaced certain hardware and software to the most recent available, revise anti-virus software packages, strengthen and update password policies, improve firewalls and document patch management processes.
In March 2019, Daniel Watney LLP received certification for Cyber Essentials Plus; a UK government backed industry scheme which is helps organisations protect against general and targeted cyber-attacks. Since 2014 Cyber Essentials Plus certification has been compulsory for suppliers of Government contracts, as well those providing products and services regarding Information Communications Technology (ICP). Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus certification means Daniel Watney LLP has a high level of protection against hacking, phishing and password guessing.
Daniel Watney LLP will continue to maintain cyber security with annul reviews and subsequent updates. We are prepared for any external malicious behaviour, ensuring both our data, and our clients is as secure as possible.
